Website down - Comcast only? (6 posts)

The website I manage appeared to have gone down yesterday. I can't access the site or get into the WordPress site to check anything. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with GoDaddy (our hosting service) this morning and they couldn't find anything wrong - they could access it fine. I can get it on my phone as can others. It seems that people who are having problems all have Comcast service. Is there a bug between WordPress and Comcast? The site has been up for almost a year and has worked fine for everyone until now.

If there is something Comcast or WordPress-specific, how can I get this resolved so our site can be back (completely) online?

There is nothing between wp and comcast. Comcast or you must be having a problem as you can get it on your phone. Have you checked to see if comcast has you throttled down? If you can, get on a different network like at starbucks and then see if you have problems.

Also, could you please post a url?

    It's http://www.baltimorefigureskatingclub.com.

Other people with Comcast haven't been able to get it either. I've asked a couple people who don't have Comcast to check but haven't heard back from them. I can try to get on at work tomorrow and see. GoDaddy suggested it was a plugin issue, but we only have 1 plugin - our site is very simple

Looks fine in IE and FF. Passes all tests - ping, trace route, google page speed, etc.

It is Comcast doing something. Please let us know how it turns out.

Thanks! I noticed there was something about a robots.txt file missing but it's not required. Also did that check code feature (HTML5) and it said there were errors, but I have no idea what they mean.

How could I fix it via Comcast? Would the actual tech support people be helpful or is there a better way to get through? My only contact with them has been with the people that answer questions about your own service, and they don't seem to know what they are doing.

Are you getting to other sites - I guess you are, you are here. That would mean something in the network or server is keeping you out. What error message do you receive? Can you connect via FTP?
