    Tried to show someone my website the other day (www.flannelandbeard.com) and got a white screen with the following text on it:

    /** * Front to the WordPress application. This file doesn't do anything, but loads * wp-blog-header.php which does and tells WordPress to load the theme. * * @package WordPress */ /** * Tells WordPress to load the WordPress theme and output it. * * @var bool */ define('WP_USE_THEMES', true); /** Loads the WordPress Environment and Template */ require('./wp-blog-header.php');

    This is the case on every page on my site, including the login page at http://www.flannelandbeard.com/wp-login

    I checked with my web hosting company (Blue Host) and they weren't sure what the issue was beyond telling me they thought my site was 'hacked.' The told me they could install a fresh core, which would get rid of all my plugins and my existing theme...is that the right way to go?

    Any other advice? I'm not overly technically savvy, so please be gentle. Haha. Thanks in advance.

    your host should have told you that your site is not processing php, but serving it up as plain text. You can test this by typing the full path to one of the php files including the file name & extension in the browser address bar. Whatever the cause, this issue means that your database login credentials are exposed to anyone who knows where to look and so will need to be changed. This issue might be the result of a hack, but whenever I have seen anything similar previously it was due to a misconfigured server.

    I think you need to escalate the support ticket you have with your hosting company & ask them to check why PHP is not being processed on your site.
