[closed] Website 'blinks' or 'flickers' when changing pages (6 posts)

I have created a site through wordpress, it is designed on a black background and when changing pages the site and content seems to 'blink' or 'flicker' to white for a second before displaying the new page.

Is there a common reason that can cause something like this within wordpress? I thought it could be page loading time but it seems to happen with almost any pages on the site, some with just a small image and text.

Is there anything that can be done through wordpress to make the site more smooth, without such a jump between pages?

Would appreciate and advice or experience you may have with this issue.

    Thanks

    James.

Unless you provide a link to a page demonstrating the problem, no one will be able to offer much in the way of assistance.

    thanks!

  4. You mean the flash of white?

That's your browser downloading stuff. It happens. Either make your site load faster (caching, minimization, etc) or get a faster server.

    But it happens everywhere.

My site does the same thing. I have a custom background and each time I change pages, the original background shows for a second before the custom background takes over. It was not like this until recently and I believe it may be caused by a plugin.

jameskelly - I checked your page out and it did not seem to flicker. Have you fixed the problem since? If so, what do I need to do?

    FWIW, my site is http://www.filmjackets.com/current/

You can see the black and white striped background first, then the leather texture takes over.

Rick, continue with your thread for support with your issue.
Creating me-too posts doesn't help the original poster.
