Recently, I started actually going through Google Webmaster tools and looking at the "Not Found" errors. A couple were legitimate, but I found a ton that made no sense. Here is an example:
    www.somerandomdomain.com/category/gear/www.somerandomdomain.com

There are over 100 "Not Found" errors for links that should not exist. When I go to the page and look at the source, this link is nowwhere to be found.

Stranger yet, the link is always show to be found on the correct page URL for the bad URL. So Webmaster Tools would say:

    www.somerandomdomain.com/category/gear/www.somerandomdomain.com

    is linked to from

    www.somerandomdomain.com/category/gear/

Unless you provide a link to a page demonstrating the problem, no one will be able to offer much in the way of assistance.

Found it! You have an incomplete url on the page:

<p>We are an <strong>Urban Survival Blog and <a href="http://www.intherabbithole.com/urban-survival-podcast/">Urban Survival Podcast</a></strong> dedicated to <strong><a href="www.intherabbithole.com">urban survival</a>, practical preparedness, survival gear reviews, survival book reviews,</strong> and more.</p>

Note the lack of http:// in the 2nd link.

Ahhhhh, ok. If you leave off the http:// it causes an issue?

Yes the google errors says 404 not find; its looking for a file named that or a folder; it does not auto add http if it starts with www; otherwise we can never have folders called /www/ for eg.
