    Hi,

Just installed this plugin, but I get the following warning in the News tab (in settings):

Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: Permission denied in /home/domains/Mydomain.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/syndicate-press/syndicate-press-plugin.php on line 372

Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: No such file or directory in /home/domains/Mydomain.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/syndicate-press/syndicate-press-plugin.php on line 376

Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: No such file or directory in /home/domains/Mydomain.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/syndicate-press/syndicate-press-plugin.php on line 380

Warning: fopen(/home/domains/Mydomain.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/syndicate-press/cache/input/aba52a28aad4b15e1ef34adb446251a3) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/domains/Mydomain.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/syndicate-press/php/TinyHttpClient.php on line 199
Failed to get content from 'http://henryranch.net/feed/'

    Any Ideas?

    Hi slippers,
Looks like your permissions are set too tight on your WP plugins dir, because SP was unable to execute mkdir() to create the cache dirs.

Here's something you can try: Using an FTP client (like FileZilla), connect to your server and set the permissions of /home/domains/Mydomain.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/syndicate-press/ to 755.

I have run into this issue before when creating a new WP site and uploading it to the server from windows via FileZilla. I have found that changing the permissions works when this occurs. You might need to change the perms from the top level dir of your wp install. Be sure to include sub-dirs. I would try the perms at the syndicate-press dir prior to the higher level wp main dir.

Let me know how it goes.

    Best Regards,
    SP Developer

    In http://MyDomain/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=syndicate-press-plugin.php I see:

Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: Permission denied in /home/user/domains/MyDomain/public_html/wp-content/plugins/syndicate-press/syndicate-press-plugin.php on line 407

Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: No such file or directory in /home/user/domains/MyDomain/public_html/wp-content/plugins/syndicate-press/syndicate-press-plugin.php on line 411

Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: No such file or directory in /home/user/domains/MyDomain/public_html/wp-content/plugins/syndicate-press/syndicate-press-plugin.php on line 415

Warning: fopen(/home/user/domains/MyDomain/public_html/wp-content/plugins/syndicate-press/cache/input/134f0b1594b4abfb0a0b87b32d4b92cd) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in/home/user/domains/MyDomain/public_html/wp-content/plugins/syndicate-press/php/TinyHttpClient.php on line 199

    Permissions of /home/user/domains/MyDomain/public_html/wp-content/plugins/syndicate-press/ are 755.

    @SP developer wrote above": "home/domains/Mydomain.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/syndicate-press/"
so without "USER". Can this be the problem?

    What can I do?

    Hi esprit22,
The last message contained a typo. It should have included the user dir in the path.

It seems as though your installation may be corrupt. Try deleting the SP plugin and all associated files, then try to install it again via the WordPress admin plugin control panel. There have been many changes to SP since 4 months ago when you were encountering the error.

If you still see an error regarding permissions, then the problem with your permission settings still exists and you should use an FTP program to change the permission settings.

SP does not configure any of your server paths or know anything about your server path above the syndicate-press plugin directory. When SP downloads a feed, it checks to see if the syndicate-press/cache/input and syndicate-press/cache/output directories exist. If those dirs don't exist it tries to create them prior to caching the feed. From the errors you provided it appears that SP is unable to create the cache/input and cache/output dirs. SP needs read/write access to the syndicate-press dir and below...

As always, you should understand your servers permissions settings to make sure that your server is correctly configured for your application.

    Best regards,
    SP Developer

I set the map syndicate-press to 775 and then it worked. Will this settings not cause safety problems?

    Hi esprit22,
We are not security experts so we cannot advise you on securing your server.

SP does not need any more permissions than required to be able to read/write to its cache dir.

SP developer, thank you very much!
Is it possible that automatically will be created a new page for each feed/item?

    Hi esprit22,
Glad you got the cache permission issues resolved.

Regarding adding new pages for articles... SP does not currently support this. Perhaps this will be addd to an upcoming SP-PRO release.

Another thing: When I place the adsense code in .../wp-admin/options-general.php?page=syndicate-press-plugin.php > 'Custom feed separation code:', it gives not the right result. What can I do?

Thank you for your answer. When will be the next release of SP?

Another thing: How can visitors search in a search field for results of a feed?
