You don’t have the right permissions set for that folder that’s why its being denied.
Thanks for responding…How would I resolve it? Very new to WP and haven’t changed any security settings..
Change the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767 or 777. Once everything is working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK.

filezilla reports it doesn’t understand the command…
to change permissions…I changed all permissions to 767 on that directory and recursed to all files, but every file it processed said
500 ‘SITE CHMOD 767 info-box-bottom.gif’: command not understood
Just try chmodding the folder for now.
tried that as well..no luck…sorry to trouble you.
Here’s the response…
Status: Set permissions of ‘/wp-admin/includes’ to ‘777’
Command: SITE CHMOD 777 includes
Response: 500 ‘SITE CHMOD 777 includes’: command not understood
You only need to change the permissions on the wp-content folder.
Command: SITE CHMOD 777 wp-content
Response: 500 ‘SITE CHMOD 777 wp-content’: command not understood
Perhaps you need to try another FTP client? Or have a word with your hosting provider. They may provide access to a tool that will allow you to change folder permissions.
ok thanks! appreciate your help esmi 🙂
