After installing the buddypress and genesis buddypress connect plugins, when I view the homepage, I get this warning message:

call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, 'maybe_redirect_404' was given in .../wp-includes/plugin.php on line 406

    How is this corrected?

Reinstall BuddyPress manually by uploading the files with FTP or your web host control panel.

No change after uploading Buddypress files via FTP. The warning appears only on the front page. Navigating to a BuddyPress page, such as /members, eliminates the warning. But it reappears once I navigate back to the frontpage. Investigating BP alternatives.

The maybe_redirect_404 is a BP function. Had you previously installed the BP template pack? http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/genesis-connect-for-buddypress/installation/
