[resolved] wanting to use index.php after static index page (5 posts)

I have a wordpress site where I want to have a static front page but then display the regular index.php file.

In applying a static page you loose access to the index.php file. In essence I want a kind of 'splash page' that will then lead users onto the latest posts page.

Kinda at abit of a loose end of how to acheive this. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your reply I found something similar dealing with the root directory at this site.

    Wrong and outdated!
You don't need all that in newer WP versions. But if you know better... don't ask.

    Hi there

This is my first post so hello.

    Can anyone advise please?

I realise it is 3 months since the last post in this thread but as it is relevant it seems the best place?

I am very new to this and still getting my head around posts and pages etc etc.

My site is new and still a work in progress but one of my first tasks was to create a static index page.

I have followed your advice Moshu and thanks for that.

However, I'm a little confused as to how to 'get rid of' the tab at the top that says 'Welcome To Feast On Raw'.

I tried just putting 'Home' but that then leaves me with 2 Home tabs at the top, and the heading of my information says 'Home' also.

Any advise on what I'm doing wrong please?

    Thanks Very Much.
