   My theme's index page is junked and is very finicky....

   While experimenting with my settings, I selected to display a static page instead of my current index page actually prefer it and now want to keep it! I want to remove my previous theme index page all together, yet keep the theme for the pages and posts.

   How can I go about doing this?

   make the home page static:
   go to settings --> Reading
