   I know this shouldnt be hard but for some reason, I cannot seem to figure out how to get this to work:

   I want a sidebar that lisst the title of the most recent posts in a specific category ("News"). Nothing fancy ... the sidebar & category will be the same throughout all of the pages (i.e. I don't need the category to change based on the page being viewed, etc)

   anyone?

   Thank you for the quick response!

   I ended up using the Query Posts plugin for a very quick & easy solution.
