w3tc won't stop caching page (3 posts)

    Hi,

I am running the alpha version of Google XML Sitemaps [1]. Instead of writing a sitemap file to disk it now dynamically generates them. For example:

    http://example.com/blog/sitemap.xml is generated dynamically.

I have tried to exclude this from w3tc page cache by adding the following regexs to the "do not cache box".

    sitemap-posts.*\.xml
    .*sitemap\.xml
    .*sitemap.*

But they don't work and I cannot figure out why! w3tc is still caching them.

    Any ideas?

Ah, I figured it out. w3tc accomplishes this by not serving a cached page in .htaccess. I was using nginx.

Don't you think w3tc should not write a cache file (or append the w3tc comments to the end of the file) if the page is excluded?

W3TC only appends the HTML signature to .xml files that are dynamically generated by WordPress.
