   Workaround to this is to symlink
   w3-total-cache/lib/JSON.php to w3-total-cache/lib/W3/JSON.php
   .

   I think the issue may be with compat.php using W3TC_LIB_W3_DIR instead of W3TC_LIB_DIR on line 21, but I"m not sure.

   Hope this helps.

   I have php basedir restriction turned on, maybe this is blocking the update? But i did the same thing, and the error was gone. Everything working fine...
