I am not concerned with the spam functionality, so I won’t be installing the Cloudflare plugin.

But I need my server, for firewall purposes, to still see the visitor’s real IP.

From what I gather mod_cloudflare IS still necessary to have the correct visitor’s IP be seen at server level.

    1) Will the W3TC plugin ever be able to accomplish this alone or that’s impossible via a WP plugin?

    2) Any special precaution needed when I use Clouflare via W3TC with mod_cloudflare installed?

    Thanks

  • The plugin only works at the WordPress commenting level & not the server level. This is not something that can be addressed via a plugin, unfortunately:(

The only real area of concern would be that you don’t want to turn Minify options on at both CloudFlare and W3TC (conflicts are very likely to arise & you should only choose one). Other than that…you shouldn’t see any issues.

The tips below should help you out a great deal…
