• Hi. thanks for looking at my post. I’m trying to go through the process of W3C validation for my blog. I’m receiving an error that includes the text of part of a post that I made on my blog. I need to change some of the code right before that text. The only problem is that I can’t find that text. It’s not in my files on my computer. The text was written in the admin section of WP. So, where is that info kept? When I do a search in DreamWeaver using some of the text of the post, nothing shows up. Ahhhhhhhhh! I’m going insane! Thanks for your help. I totally appreciate it!!

  • Don’t ever open DW when working with WordPress.
All your content is in the database. If you copy/pasted text into your posts from M$ Word right into the ugly visual (wywiwyg) editor… then delete those post and redo them.

All the “meta” related errors were put by you in the header.php file of the theme in use.

On the validation page always check the “Show source” box and click Revalidate. Every error # will become a link, taking you exactly to the location of the error:

Thanks for the speedy response. I’m a little confused.

All your content is in the database.

How do I access the database?

All the “meta” related errors were put by you in the header.php file of the theme in use.

What meta related errors? I didn’t touch the header file. Are you saying that the errors came with the theme?

I did. The only problem is, the page shown is not a page in my files. Not exactly, anyways. There’s a page with lots of the same code, but when it actually comes to the text that I wrote in my blog, it’s not there. So, the codes there, but not the text. Am I ever going to find a page with the code and the text that I wrote in my blog, on the same page?

Thanks again, I really appreciate your help. I hope I can get to the bottom of this.

the text that I wrote in my blog

that is stored in your database. if you need to change it, edit the post it’s in.

The other HTML you see is written out by your theme files. Keep in mind, though, they use PHP so it’s not going to match what any of them look like..

Whooami, you mentioned database, would you mind to elaborate and explain in broad strokes how to find specific code in database?
    Let me start:
