• Hello
I spent a lot of time to validate my blog using W3c tools , I got different errors and warning and all of them about the core of WP it-self , on of these error
    there is no attribute “role”
    <form role="search" method="get" id="searchform"
I try to make a Validation Checklist as WP Community stat.
    Validation Checklist
Is there any method to validate my blog using the correct syntax for both W3C standardizations with no-arbitrary change of wp files or functions.
another thing I view source of WP site i find they use transitional DTD type , while the WP header.php contain Strict DTD type. what is the purpose of WP Developers for using different dtd type between their site and their product.

    Best Regard.

  • The DOCTYPE is controlled by your current theme – not WordPress core.

    Hi,
using the Twenty Ten theme I get 2 error messages from W3C, who is checking my page as HTML5: “Bad value EditURI for attribute rel on element link: Keyword edituri is not registered; Bad value index for attribute rel on element link: Keyword index is not registered.”
This “EditURI” value is in the general-template.php and the second one rel=”index” in the link-template.php.
Doctype wasn’t changed, I’m kinda lost here.
Somehow I know that this is something I overlooked, because it used to work just fine before I changed my design.
    Maybe someone knows the cure.

If not, it’s not THAT important. I can live without a validation.
    Thank you.
