• I had a plugin that was referencing a non existent file, so the resulting 404 was causing the site to lag almost 10 seconds. I fixed the problem with the plugin, and purged CDN, object, database, and page cache, and W3 is still loading OLD files. Somehow, it was even pulling up a nearly week old “Coming Soon” page that’s been disabled. Turning off W3 actually sped up the site!

I like W3, but how can I brute force dump the old content and force it to cache only the current content? Need tips on that ASAP. Thanks!

  • I noticed this as well when I had the plugin working on my old site. I had to go into the plugin options and empty cache several times before new content started to show up. Make sure you purge the “minify” section as well though.
