   I received error:

   W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove .../htdocs/wp-content/advanced-cache.php

   I tried deleted - no reaction

   Did you clear all the caches first?
   Did you deactivate first?
   Are you using an FTP client?

   I have deleted, installed and uninstalled W3TC many times and it's always pretty smooth.

   Did you try deactivating and re-activating the plugin or starting the installation process from scratch?
