   Hello,

   Can i use memcache with W3 total cache? Are these compatible?

   Do i really need to use memcache?

   Yes, you can use memcache with W3TC.

   If memcache is installed on the local server then W3TC should detect it. If it's installed on a different server, then the 4th post on this support thread explains how to configure it, http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-w3-total-cache-memcached-server-configuration?replies=5.
