Hi everyone,
This morning I suddenly discovered that stuff's not working. At first it was both the insert media and Visual/HTML tabs (the former was showing but not working whilst the latter was not showing). I switched to the default theme and that solved the "insert media" problem but the Visual/HTML tabs are still not showing up.
I've tried both Firefox and Safari, have emptied the cache multiple times, restarted the browser, tried a different computer, but all to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you ever find a solution to this? If so, would you share?
Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.
If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Default theme (WordPress 1.5 - 2.9.2) or the Twenty Ten theme (WordPress 3.0 and higher) to rule-out a theme-specific issue.
If neither of those work, try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download.
