I've been using WordPress 2.5 on my website for awhile now without any problems.
Recently, I encountered a strange problem - Visual Mode was no longer working. That is, it says it's in Visual Mode but is actually in HTML mode, and I can't switch between modes.
I haven't changed any settings on my host's control panel - this problem just popped up out of the blue.
I've tried using different browsers, but it hasn't made any difference.

This happened to one of my sites that I was building at work. Then IT accidentally killed it and I had to start over. Is there a way to reinstall wordpress? that might help.

I'm afraid that an unchecked Visual Mode box isn't the problem. It's quite checked on my blog.

I'm also facing this issue. As I said on another post here, it seems to be a jQuery problem.

I've had this problem too, very frustrating. It resolved itself, but unfortunately I didn't use good trouble shootiing protocol by trying only one thing at a time and testing, sorry. But I would pose this question here in this thread - has anyone tried switching to a default theme, looking at the text box to see if visual editing is available, an if so then switching back to the desired theme? That may have been what fixed it for me, but I hesitate to say - do this - without hearing from a more experienced user. I'm a bit klutzy when it comes to these things, good luck and please report back!
