This is what I did to troubleshoot this problem:
1. I turned off all plugins but the problem persisted
2. I renamed my plugins folder to plugins-old but the problem persisted.
3. I also switched to the Twenty eleven theme but the the problem persisted.
Anyone can suggest a fix?
This is further detail about this:
1) My webhost: Hostgator
2) PHP 5.2.17
3) Mysql it would be 5.1.52
Any help is appreciated.
Check your profile if Visual Editor is ticked
and/or clear your browser cache.

Okay about the profile visual editor...It says "Disable the visual editor when writing"...I didn't tick that.
On the browser...I am using firefox. I clicked on Clear Recent History. And I have the option to delete a number of things but I only ticked the box that says "Cache." I cleared "Everything" in the cache.
After doing all these...I didn't see any changes on my site. I still can't see the visual editor.
what version your firefox?
try with other browsers

Hi there,
I found an answer on this thread and tried it.
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/visual-editor-not-working-after-upgrade-to-28?replies=21
I tried the suggestion by user called "rgivs" on that page.
I deleted the .htaccess file in my wp-includes folder and the visual editor came back.
I wonder what this does in terms of security though for my site.

By the way...I contacted Hostgator as you suggested and they were the one that pointed me to that page.
I love hostgator for their excellent support.

The hostgator support says this is not a security issue. Let's hope he is right.
