i’m also getting the same problem myself, let us know if you find out how to fix it 🙂
If possible, delete all plugins and theme folders (except default 2012).
Hi, peter, I have tried that, because it is a fresh install, there are only 2 default plugins and 2 themes, but it doesn’t helps even after I delete 1 theme and 2 plugins.
If possible, delete all plugins and theme folders (except default 2012).
NO! Do not delete anything . . . yet. We have a protocol for finding out what is wrong.
Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins (yes, all) to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s). Don’t forget the ones in mu-plugins if you have that folder. If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
Hi, Kmessinger:
I have tried that, actually it is a fresh install, there are only 2 default plugins: one is Akismet, another is Hello Dolly. both of them are deactive. Twenty Eleven is default theme as well.
but the problem is still existing.
Make sure Java is working, http://javatester.org/index.htm
Download a fresh copy of wp. Extract it. Using ftp then replace all files in the “/wp-includes/js/tinymce/” directory.
Thanks, kmessinger, but still not working. my java was working, I saw the pink rectangle above with one line of text that says something like: Java Version 1.6.0_30 from Apple Inc.
I have also replace the tinymce folder through fireftp.
but nothing changes.
I still show you missing files in that folder.
http://hornetmarketing.com.au/wp-includes/js/tinymce/wp-tinymce.php?c=1 comes up with a 404 error. It should look like this http://lookingoutfromunder.com/wp-includes/js/tinymce/wp-tinymce.php?c=1
Can you compare the file size of the files you uploaded to the server versus the files on your computer?
The folders are 755 and the files should be 644. I only see one line in the link above and I should see many.
Delete the entire wp-includes and wp-admin folders. DO NOT touch the wp-content folder. Upload fresh copies of the wp-includes and wp-admin folders to the server.
Hi, kmessinger:
I just did what you told. but visual editor still not showing.
and http://preview.newsprout.com.au/119.148.76.134/http://platinumfg.com.au/wp-includes/js/tinymce/wp-tinymce.php?c=1 still only showing 1 row. I have also checked all folders are 755, files are 644.
What is platinumfg.com.au? It is not using wordpress.
Make a copy of the wp-config.php. Rename it wp-config.old. Open wp-config.php and add define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false);
near the top on a new line.
Open the site. Ctrl, F5 and try the visual editor.
Hi, kmessinger, I tried it, nothing happens.
platinumfg.com.au is the old site, I am designing a new site for them. currently the site is sitting on a testing server, which is http://preview.newsprout.com.au/119.148.76.134/http://platinumfg.com.au/
I have contacted the server provider, they have no idea as well.
