   When I go onto an old post to update it, I cannot switch between visual and code. It automatically shows up with all the code plus some extra stuff. If I want to switch to visual view I cannot.

   What can be causing this?

   Users -> Your Profile.

   Top checkbox, is it checked?

   It also seems to be a firefox issue as it works fine in IE7

   Are you running any FF extensions that might block "ads" or javascript?

   I disabled ad block and flushed my cookies out. Still the same as before.

   Well, what else is going on with that FF browser? NoScript extension? Javascript disabled?

   I'm having the same problem.

   This function was working yesterday before I upgraded to v2.3

   After the upgrade, there are no selections in the Visual editing mode, as mentioned by beisbolet.

   I'm using Firefox but do not have NoScript loaded. Javascript is enabled... nothing was changed in my browser from when it was working previously.

    Mine is back and working now. After the disable of adblock, I flushed my cookies, did a F5 refresh, and then restarted the browser.

    I have no issues now.
