• Help! I keep getting e-mail notifications that a virus is suspected in the website that I am just starting to build. I have an antivirus plug-in installed, and when I run a scan several tabs show up in green, but even more show up with a red frame around it with code and a button that says “there is no virus” but seems to not be the case?

This is all that comes across in the e-mail:

The daily antivirus scan of your blog suggests alarm.

Notify message by AntiVirus for WordPress
    http://wpantivirus.com

I’m thoroughly confused and frustrated. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Jessica

  • From where do you get emails about virus threat?
However, I have checked your site and find NO VIRUS. Here is one of the reports that verifies your site as clean.

The daily antivirus scan of your blog suggests alarm.

Just the less-then-average English level of that text really makes me think that it’s a nice automated message sent out to try and trick you into paying for anti-virus software that you don’t need.

Where are thes emails coming from? What email address, company, name, etc?

Thanks for the response…the notification comes from wordpress@nurturingbotanicals.com. No company name or additional information is included in the message. Just the information that I posted above. When I log into the admin panel of my site after getting the notification there is a red ‘Virus Suspected’ notification in the admin bar at the top of the screen. When I click on that it just takes me to the antivirus plug-in summary.
    Thanks again!
    Cheers,
    Jessica

Have you tried deactivating the anti-virus plugin?
