I received this yesterday from one of my readers. Another has reported a similar problem. (www.stevepeer.net) I have had no problems, nor have heard of any others.

Just a warning. When I clicked on the RSS feed link to read your latest post (staircase photos or something like that) DOS screen immediately popped up that said C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe. Then almost immediately, my AVG popped up and found no fewer than 6 trojans which it zapped for me. I steered away from the blog post and am looking for info on the dos window that showed up. Apparently that happens when a virus has killed the command prompt in XP. Now I have to find a way to get that back.

    Any ideas what this is?

    Thanks,
    Steve

Note: I immediately deactivated any new code/widgets/plug-ins I was using.

I’m not seeing anything particularly obvious on your latest post there. I see a lot of scripts, but they look legit to me. The PayPerPost thing at the ending did throw me for a minute though, but it’s basically normal other than the tinyurl redirection.

If anything was adding a damaging script, I’m not seeing it. I tried with both IE6 and Firefox.

Oh, and your wife is a hottie. Good job there. 🙂
