This looks to be a perfect solution for what I am looking for, however I can not seem to get my gallery to display. I have created the gallery and uploaded pictures. In the admin I can click the “view gallery” button next to permalinks and see the page with the gallery. If I click “preview changes” in the admin the gallery title is there with “Sorry – nothing to be found” where the gallery should be.

It must be something dumb I am doing or not doing. Should there be categories etc that the gallery can be put in to make it show up where posts display! I don’t see anything in that regard.

    thanks,

    bryan

  • You can use the permalink to link to it. Or you can make a menu, if your theme supports them, then add that menu as a widget.

My question is supplementary; how do you make a dynamic list of galleries, like categories or pages?

I am having trouble posting a new thread in this forum so I shall append it to here in the hope the developers see it, apologies for hijacking your thread.

“How do you create a dynamic list of all, or recent galleries for the sidebar.

I can do this as a menu or by using the permalinks but both these methods are static and require user intervention when a new gallery is required.

Also how do I create a link to the fabled gallery album page (for which the template is gallery-template.php)? ”

    Hello bhinerdeer,

Unfortunately not, the gallery is using its own template for ‘single post gallery’ and has its own rewrite for ‘single post gallery’ displaying, that is why while you are viewing gallery you see correct displaying and while you are previewing changes WordPress is trying to upload your changes to the general ‘single.php’ file, but this is not a regular post this is a ‘custom post type’, that is why nothing can be found.

This list is dynamic and generates on all gallery pages. If you are talking about the widget for gallery displaying, then we don’t have such kind of option.

= I cannot view my Gallery page =

    1. First of all, you need to create your first Gallery page and choose ‘Gallery’ from the list of available templates (which will be used for displaying our gallery).
    2. If you cannot find ‘Gallery’ in the list of available templates, then just copy it from /wp-content/plugins/gallery-plugin/template/ directory to your templates directory.

I’m using the gallery plugin to insert photos in posts. Trouble is when you click on the photo you get a zoomed one pop up (gallery box) and behind it the slideshow (pretty box). When you close the top photo, the slideshow is underneath.

I only want the thumbnail to open a slideshow. If it matters, I’m using the WP Bakery Lightning Theme. Have a look at http://www.realinteriorsuk.co.uk/master-bedroom-ensuite/ to see what I mean.

    Any ideas how to fix?

    Hello,

This is a specific of your theme or specific of post creation. Gallery displays the images and theme (or gallery) – bwbps_gallery – forms the gallery of current images. The lightbox is appearing after clicking (the script of our plugin) and gallery script of your theme too (or other plugin). It is necessary to choose one of them. Why you are using gallery plugin if your theme generates gallery itself?

    Best,
    Oksana
