View Calendar button

On one of my websites, I have Upcoming Events displayed in the primary widget area. Under that particular widget, I placed another text widget with a link to the calendar. My thought is that you could look at the Upcoming Events list and, if you wanted to, you could click the button to view the calendar page. The button works exactly as I want, but since it is in a separate text widget, the button does not go away when I open the full calendar.

Any ideas on how I can get the button and it’s associated code inside the Upcoming Events code so that when the button is clicked, the full calendar displays and the button hides?
