I have been trying to get video from "you tube" to be embedded in my blog now for about a day and a half and I cannot believe that it will not work for me. I have tried to install and activate the 2 plugins that I was able to find:
    1. http://www.rossgerbasi.com/
    2. http://rane.hasitsown.com/blog/index.php?tag=youtube
and I could not get either to work. If anyone can help me with this I would be greatly appreciative. Oh btw all that I get when I paste the embedded link is a hollow box.

Worked for me - just remove the param tags and content within the tags.

Hey m8rk is this using the "mytube" plugin or the extreme video plugin? I removed the tags and it still did not work for me. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Uf6Mfwn4iaE"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Uf6Mfwn4iaE" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

what is it that i take out to make sure i did it right; i should remove <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Uf6Mfwn4iaE"></param> right?

I did try it when I posted that and the results were the same, thats the reason I was double checking.

    Hey all,

I drove myself crazy today because I wanted to easily embed YouTube while keeping the WYSIWYG editor turned on. I figured out how and did a write-up. Thought I'd track down fellow frustrated wordpressers and let you know that it's been done, and fairly easily:
