After downloading the newest version of WordPress, I have not been able to embed youtube videos into posts except manually. So, I have been able to put videos up using html but not via the "video" button on the post page. Only a link comes up. Is there a way I can fix this?

The video button was removed from the Visual Editor (due to copyright issues, IIRC). Have you reviewed Embeds?
