What you can do is create a category specifically for that page and then exclude that category for all other pages via WP-built in system for just that.
You can then have a specific style for how the posts in that category is rendered via CSS and the addition of a SECONDARY loop specific for that page via a page-template.
It all sounds difficult and daunting but it really isn't. What you just do is then to use the "MORE"-tag for your actual content in your post and everything before the MORE-tag is for example.... an image or an image of a video?
Here is an under-developed example of what i mean anyway.. this page contains 2 loops and a plugin that makes me able to disable categories on the main page in order to block the category "videogallery";
This way all your galleries and videogalleries will also be able to use WP's built in commentsystem and every plugin that can be used with regular posts....
I just wish someone would "pluginize" this type of operation and make it so that one instead get a tab in the admin-interface to a 3rd write-screen specific for a category or something.
