   The footer is filled with Viagra keyword links. How do I get rid of them?

   The spam is not actually placed in the footer, although it displays there. To begin with I'd re-upload root and Theme index.php, and if that fails, everything else. But you really need to upgrade to WordPress 3.0 (urgently).

   It's not just the footer, view the source of your home page it's riddled with all sorts of spam links.

   You need to do a fresh install of everything from known good files. And like pcmt said - you need to upgrade urgently.
