• I’ve got something weird happening with this WordPress site: http://www.haloworldwide.org.

They called me saying that their home page and their Branches -> Denver page were coming up blank. I sat down to my computer and was able to confirm this.

I simply logged in to the admin panel, went to Pages, and opened up the Branches -> Denver page, where I can see the content no problem. I didn’t make any updates or anything at all. I just looked at it.

Then I went back to the home page and both Home and Branches -> Denver were showing content again.

The same exact thing happened on my laptop, and the same procedure fixed it there. The same procedure is also fixing it for my client’s computers, but we have to do this procedure with every computer we view the site from.

The problem is the same thing is happening to regular users that I have view the site, and they’re not going to be able to do this procedure as they don’t have access to the control panel.

I can’t figure out for the life of me why this is happening. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Try running a repair on the database (in phpmyadmin). Sometimes MySQL has a hiccup, and it just needs to rebuild the table index.

Just a suggestion, as it’s a weird problem definitely.

    Ha, well, that’s funny.

I discovered the source of the problem. They’ve got a donate button with code generated from givingfirst.org. The button code is extremely long and looks like it’s almost corrupt or something. It does work when it loads on the page, but when I remove it all together every machine can see the pages again.

I tried to post the button code here and my response is showing up blank, which is the same thing that was happening in my WP post/pages. So that’s definitely the problem. I’ll try and re-generate this code from givingfirst.

Still confused on why logging into the admin panel from each machine fixes it, though, for that given machine.
