Hi I've Installed WordPress 2.6 On My Local Home Machine and Everything Was Going Just Fine ,,, However When I Moved Back The The University And Run My Blog On Our Local LAN (Which Has a High Internet Speed Connection Since The Univ Uses Fiber Optics) It Was Running Incredibly Slow Even For Me The Host !, The Interesting Thing Is That I Installed WordPress 2.3.3 and Now The Pages Load in Less That 2 sec !

But I Really Need To Use WordPress 2.6 For All The Plugins :(

    Can Anyone Explain That ?!

dude,,instead of bothering ur self with me repostting
a sol for my prob would be helpful

    An English major no doubt.

    (just funnnin' 'ya...).

As long as you have gone through the trouble of reinstalling 2.3.3, why not take an extra 10 minutes and temporarily install a fresh copy of 2.6.2 in a sub-directory with a separate database. That way you can compare the performance on the same hardware, network, and applications while you gradually re-introduce the plugins you require one at a time, in a controlled environment.(Attempt to duplicate the condition, thus leading to a possible determination of the source of the problem). Perhaps a bunged up database, or plugin conflict was the culprit. Hard to tell with so many variables possible, and so little information relative to your setup.

Back The The University And Run My Blog On Our Local LAN

Just for grins, what was the numeric ip address you used to access the machine at home, and how does that compare/differ to the one you are using at University? (I don't really want to know, I'm just offering areas for inspection). Does the University dispense ip's via DHCP, or is each individual machine assigned a static ip for the duration of your term? All things to consider, I suppose. Perhaps the new installation of 2.6.2 will run as flawlessly on your new network as does your re-installation of 2.3.3. Good luck to you.

    An English major no doubt.

hahaha ,,,, Acutally I'm Studying Software Eng.
I'm From Saudi Arabia that's y my English is kinda "formal"

Just So u Know i Didn't Delete The Old Versions ,,
i actually made a fresh installation of the versions 2.3, 2.5 and 2.6 running at the same time and each of them with a different database ,,, 2.3 works perfect 2.5 & 2.6 don't !

i thinkg it's something with the core code of wordpress ,,, Something was added to the code that created that prob ,,, not something with the plugins

it's like the web is trying to connect to an outer side (e.g. main site) and after a timeout it load my blog

I duno if the ip type would make a difference ,, wp 2.3 seems to work fine ,,,

I'm Also Running A HFS Server On Another Port ,, I Duno If it Has Something To Do With WordPress !

I wish I had an answer for you. I have installed 2.6.2 on several internet sites, two intranet sites, and have installations on two separate development servers. I have never yet had any significant speed related issues that were directly related to WordPress. I played with that HFS standalone .exe server a couple of times. I thought it was actually pretty interesting, and it seemed to work quite well for the short time I messed with it.

Obviously you must have WordPress setup on a Windows machine, so there are a ton of variables there (wamp, xampp, individual apps with IIS, etc...). Sorry I was not of any real help. Post back and let us know if you actually do find the cause.

    Best wishes.
