   I have managed to upload the files, then extract them. I didn't know till I had done this two times, that files can become corrupted with uploading them onto a server.

   So I've got as far as playing around with the dashboard. I am at a loss how do I set up the main page of my blog.

   I plan to use the gallery page as a replacement for the blog.

   Check under the "reading" settings, and choose "static page" as homepage (or something like that - I don't have it up) and then choose another page for your "blog" page.

   Is that what you were looking for?

   Hey Maria, I was just wondering if WordPress for Dummies is helping you to get a better understanding? I'm thinking about purchasing the book myself since I feel that I'm lost in a desert, when trying to figure out instructions given to me, from people on this Forum!! Thanks in advance!
