• Being required to use a subdomain on idxbroker.com is horribly unprofessional. As well the default design this plugin offers is horrid. A lot of work would need to be put into this just to make it look moderately decent in anything beyond a 90’s website that some nerd made in his mama’s basement.

  • Sub-domain is not required at all.

    Works for me.

And there are plenty of upgraded WordPress themes ready-made.

Thanks for the LOL with your link.

I’ll be suggesting to the client to drop IDXbroker in the morning. We’ll pickup an MLS provider with more functionality and improved design out of the box. It will save her money in the long run AND match her premium website design.

So, you don’t understand that a subdomain is not required and LOL at proof?
And you are advising an agent to get a bloated site with “functionality” that no one cares about so it can be over-baked like all the other over-baked agent sites out there?
    “Premium design?”
Sounds really really developer-centric and overly-expensive to me.

What Mike is trying to say is that you can just as easily set www. as the subdomain. Here is what Mike is referring to: http://www.idxbroker.com/features/platinum/domain-control.

You can be rude to Mike and poke fun at his website’s layout, but his IDX site generates a solid amount of activity for him and he clearly understands the technical side of IDX, and how to leverage the technology to generate business.

We have Broker client sites that take months to develop, and Agent sites that take 10 minutes (like these plug-and-play themes: http://www.idxbroker.com/wordpress-idx-themes.php). The system can work with any design. The only limitation is the Designer’s knowledge of CSS.

Your general confusion around the functionality is not about to get in the way of what IDX Broker Platinum has to offer others who try the plugin. Good luck with your search.

Note that you will find some new theme options on agentevolution.com via their Must See Equity Theme. IDX Broker purchased Agent Evolution in September ’14 and we are working now to integrate their Equity Framework (similar to the Genesis framework, but built specifically for real estate websites) with WordPress and IDX feeds. More to come there for the development community..
