    Hi all,

Recently I have noticed that in one of my blogs I have very big error_log file (320 mb), and I have few questions about it:

    1. Can I empty the file and how? (I don’t want to have useless file on my server without a reason).
    2. Why was it grow so big?
    3. I want to backup the website on my hard drive, can I do it without having a backup of this file? will it work ok to restore the website without this file?

    Thanks all,

    Michael

error_log is a SERVER file and, as such, is not something WordPress controls.

Depending on your Server OS, you can do this. Check with your webhost. (and no, you don’t need your error_log on a backup)
