    Hi guys, I'm trying to put up a vertical divider between my sidebar and content area. You can see what I'm working with here: http://greenclothesmusic.com/wordpress/test/

    Is there some basic code that I can use to get started with this? I'm not very CSS-smart.

    go into your styles.css

    #l_sidebar {
    border: 0px solid black;
    width: 200px;
    margin: 0px 0px 15px 20px;
    float: left;
    display: inline; /* floats are handled as block elements, this is to fix
    a margin collapsing bug in IE */

    change 'border: 0px solid black;' to:
    border-right: 1px solid black;

    what this does is creates a border on the right side of your floating sidebar. to adjust thickness, change "1px" to whichever thickness in pixels you desire. to change the color, edit "black" to reflect the hex color you wish, ie, #ff0000 for red, #999999 for grey
