[resolved] Ver. 2.7 upgrade - fatal error and cannot log in (3 posts)

I upgraded to ver. 2.7 and when I point at the wp-admin page I get the following fatal error message:

"Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ':', expecting T_VARIABLE or '$' in /hsphere/local/home/sunrayftp/auditpundit.com/wp-includes/post.php on line 1691"

I started over with the installation; deleted the files as instructions say and reinstalled the ver. 2.7 files, but this didn't fix it. Does anyone know what to do? Thanks.

I'd say download a fresh copy of WordPress from the Download tab at the top of this screen, unzip (7-zip), then do Steps 7 and 8 of Upgrading WordPress Extended.

Wonderful! I deleted my previos download of Ver 2.7 and the extracted files. Downloaded a fresh copy and extracted all the files again. This time it works. I think there was a file extraction error the first time. Thank you.
