Peter's Login Redirect
[resolved] [variable]http_referer[/variable] redirect not working from wp-login.php (7 posts)

When logging in through the wp-login.php form using the variable [variable]http_referer[/variable] my users are not being redirected back to the page the came from. The logout redirect is working fine. Are there any non-default settings I need to specify to get this to work?

Allow a POST or GET "redirect_to" variable to take redirect precedence

Have you checked this at the bottom of Peter's settings page?

My mistake, I forgot to mention I already tried checking that option. I still have no luck and get redirected to the dashboard when logging in. Any other suggestions? Thanks for the help by the way.

I wish I knew more to try to help, but the only other thing I would know to suggest is to disable other plugins to see whether one might be interfering.

Disabling the other plugins did not help. It's weird because I can hard code any value in the log in redirect field and it works, but as soon as i use the variable it stops working.

Hi, it might not work if you're logging in directly from wp-login.php. For some other ways to achieve the desired behavior, see the suggestions mentioned here: http://www.theblog.ca/wplogin-redirect#comment-11089

Thanks Peter. I was able to get it working by deactivating and reactivating the plugin (it took a few tries for some reason).
