I'm trying to add variable product data to woocommerce. I select variable product then add custom product attribute the box appears but I can't select anything or type in selected name or value. I'm up to date with all software. This is driving me mad

I am having a similar issue with variable product data.
Variable product does not show Add to Cart button, or attribute options (multiple size).

@jenlew - your issue is not the same as OP. His/her description refers to backend and you're talking about the frontend.

Your issue is most likely because of out dated WooCommerce template files in your theme. You can attest this by switching to 2012 theme and see if it fixes the issue.

@splashingpixels thanks! got it... but it's not a theme issue. just checked.
i'm thinking its a code issue - variable products are not showing attribute options as well as no Add to Cart. Simple Product no attributes are shown as a toggle for choices - but they display as Additional Information.
if you have some guidance I'd love it.

@jenlew - then you probably forgot to set a price for each variable.

I would suggest you contact your theme developer and ask if they're up to date with their theme compatibility with WooCommerce 2.0+

    @splashingpixels.com sorry to bother but...

Theme developer is updating the theme for the new woo 2.0.5 updated. In the meantime I'd like to revert back to version 1.6.6
do you have any tips or how to do this successfully?
I tried installing the 1.6.6 zip and it failed - should i deactivate 2.0.5 ? I'm terrified settings will be lost *paranoid* i have a back up - but still that's a whole lotta work :0

@jenlew - sorry to say if you have clicked the updater button in the message already, you can't go back. It is always advisable to do a full backup prior to any updates.

@splashingpixels.com ugh. so to be clear so.. i'm just SOL and either change the theme or work around the broken issue.

and you're saying that if I deactivate 2.0.5 and install 1.6.6 products will not be saved?

@jenlew - when you clicked that update button, it showed you a message stating your DB will be updated to 2.0. So once you updated your DB, you can't go back to non 2.0. It also ask for you to do a backup before updating. Not sure if you had done that.

I have a back up of the original install yes, but i entered the products after the update.
    do you have any options?

@jenlew - sorry there is no other way. A backup should have been made prior to 2.0 update.
