Hi all,
I have a fresh very standard install of WP2.7 on a Linux host (in USA - I am in NZ) - basically this is stock standard - no plugins - nothing fancy - a handful of Categories and Link Categories and prob about 20 links and posts so far.
Basically it is VERY VERY slow. List the posts and click "edit" - about 40 seconds - generally a lot longer (sometimes 2 mins) - before I can edit anything - then click "publish" and the same sort of time to save it.
I have done another reinstall and same thing - including deleting the MySQL database. My entire site is only using about 38MB and normal HTML pages seem to load fine. There is only 1 MySQL database in use on my site and it is for WP.
I noticed this slowdown in 2.6 and gave up on WordPress - then I noticed 2.7 and thought this may have been the end of my problems.
I have not contacted my host yet. And my account for them is a very standard one - nothing fancy at all.
Have tried from work and from home on different computers/connections/OS's/times and still it is very slow.
What is "turbo mode" and should I enable this?
Any pointers gratefully appreciated.
Respectfully
Brynley
