Do you have a lot of long multi-day events, by any chance?
No I don’t. The next but one event is a 4 day event and all the rest are single day events.
Hmmm. Then that’s unusual. Can you send me a support request from My Calendar > Help? I’ll follow up but I want to take a look at the site first.

Joe is aware and has now reproduced the problem and is working on a fix for it.
I’ve got a fix for it, but I also have a question. The intended behavior of the Upcoming Events list has always been that it will show the number of upcoming events specified, but if the option to “Show Today’s Events” was checked, those events would be in addition to the total events. Is that what you would expect?
So, in effect, with 8 future events as the option, the list would show 8 events; but if “Show Today” is checked and there are events today, that could result in more events shown.

Your description of the working of Upcoming Events is exactly how I thought it worked so that is fine as far as I am concerned.

Ok thanks for fixing, for me it will be nice if it is possible to show always the configured count of events. I have configured 3 future events and the space in the widget looks nice if it will be always 3 events, even if todays events are selected. The widget is then of the same size as my other widgets. But if this is not possible the widget will become larger and and this is not a real problem.
Given the fact that it’s been set up for years to work this particular way, and that was what @colinsp expected, I’m going to choose to leave it the same, adding today’s events to the total. But thanks for your feedback.

I have just gone to 2.3.5. I have reset the widget to next 5 events and now it is showing the next 20 events! It doesn’t make any difference whether show today’s events is enabled or not. Selecting 3 drops it to 18 displayed. Selecting 1 drops to 1 displayed. Setting 2 displays 17 events.
I am experiencing the similar problem since 2.3.4 and now with 2.3.5. I have one reccuring event and before version 2.3.4 I used to have 1 past event and 3 upcoming events displayed in the widget. With 2.3.4 widget started showing numerous occurrences in the future. For the time I fixed it by switching to 0 events in the past with which it showed correct number of events in the future.
With 2.3.5 today the problem is back but now my old solution is not working.
Show today’s events tick seems not to have any influence.
0 events in the past and 0 events in the future – shows nothing
1 event in the past and 0 events in the future – shows 1 in the past
0 events in the past and 1 event in the future – shows 1 in the future
1 event in the past and 1 event in the future – shows 1 in the past and 16 in the future
0 events in the past and 2 events in the future – shows 0 in the past and 17 in the future
and so on
Argh. Sometimes I hate the upcoming events widget. I’m back on it.

Can I really be a pain and ask you whilst you are in there if you can tell me where to add a link in the code to point to the main events page? I have had a couple of goes at it without success in 2.3.3.
If that is too much to ask no problem.
Just add it in the widget, in the link field? I’m not sure what you’re asking for, if not that.
