After updating my WordPress install to v2.1, I’ve noticed that Firefox 2’s built in spellcheck no longer works in the write post dialog box. Anyone know if there’s a work-around for this?

Not really. However, you can disable the visual rich editor by going to Users->Your Profile, and the Firefox spell checker will work on that.

Alternatively, the new editor has a built in spell checker. Just click the “ABC” icon (it has a blue checkmark on it), and it’ll spell check your entire post. The functionality is very similar to that of Firefox’s spell checking, it just doesn’t work in real time, as you type. Try it out.

Terrific! I didn’t even see that option there now. Solves my problem completely!

You can also get FireFox to check the spelling by right clicking in the input box and selecting “Spell check this field.”

But I think WP 2.1 should allow FF to check spelling automatically. Isn’t this a WP bug?
