I would like to use my wordpress theme in a php file that is separate to other php files associated with wordpress files. I want to make a blog into a resource type site and to do that I need a single theme.

So I need a php code to display the theme (header and footer with sidebars included or not included).

    -thanks.

I don't understand how this is different from how themes always work.

I want to know how to add the theme to a php file that I create. It's plain and simple. Can't get any simpler than that. I'm sure it's been done.

Thats nice but you misunderstood me. I want to be able to make my OWN php pages with the wordpress template. I have a big php file to implement with the wordpress template.

OK, first: WP has themes. Not templates - themes. In a theme there might be 4-5-37 template files.

Next, you will have to explain this:

I want to be able to make my OWN php pages with the wordpress template.

Your own PHP files = non-WordPress.
Making them to use a WP theme - see the links I gave.

    What did I misunderstand?
