   What are the rules for using WordPress on a site with paid-for advertising, make-a-donation, etc?

   I've scoured the WP site for answers to this and it appears that WordPress is 100% free to use... but I want to be sure before I start building out my WordPress-driven site as a revenue generator.

   No problem using WordPress like that.

   It is free...but they ask (not obligatory) for a modest link on your WP powered site. It is up to you. If you're happy with this wonderfull piece of software than you should put a link somewhere...but again...it is up to you.
