    Trying to use the Pipes functionality within Contact Form 7 to created a placeholder in a dropdown.

    [select* your-referral id:referral "Select One of the Following...|false" "Option 1|Option 1" "Option 2|Option 2"]

    and receive this output

    <span class="wpcf7-form-control-wrap your-referral">
    <select name="your-referral" id="referral" class="wpcf7-select wpcf7-validates-as-required">
    <option value="Select One of the Following...">Select One of the Following...</option>
    <option value="Option 1">Option 1</option>
    <option value="Option 2">Option 2</option>
    </select>
    </span>

    The WPCF7_USE_PIPE is set to true by default, but I went ahead and declared it in my wp_config file anway

    define( 'WPCF7_USE_PIPE', true );

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Takayuki,

    I've already seen that link and used its instructions. As you can see from my code, the syntax is the same as the example on the site, but my output isn't effected.
