Hi! I am trying to transfer my blog from tumblr to a self-hosted wordpress format. But, I am having a lot of difficulty getting wordpress to install. I've got a laughingsquid account that says my site is ready and, so far, I have:

    1. Created my database
    2. Downloaded and unzipped wordpress and renamed/resaved the wp-config file with the appropriate database and local host information
    3. Uploaded all wordpress files to the ftp site via filezilla (I place the WP files at thedailyjulie.com/web/content/ within the FTP)
    4. redirected my domain (via GoDaddy) to DNS1.STABLETRANSIT.COM and DNS2.STABLETRANSIT.COM and received e-mail confirmation from godaddy that my domain has been rerouted.

Now, I am trying to access the install file by going to thedailyjulie.com/web/content/wp-admin/install.php and I cannot get anything to happen. I have tried and retried and read what feels like a million WP forum topics and I can't seem to get anything to work. Can someone - anyone - please tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks!

I still get a not-found page. Do you?

But here is the weird thing, the "not found" landing page is a tumblr page (tumblr was my old blog platform). I've redirected the DNS (and been notified that my domain has indeed been redirected) and removed my domain name from tumblr, so it seems strange that I would be getting a tumblr provided "not found "page, right?

  3. I get an install page at the URL. Clear your browser cache, restart your PC.

    Hello,

As songdogtech pointed out the correct URL is http://thedailyjulie.com/wp-admin/install.php, the /web/content is an internal FTP path which you can read more about in the Laughing Squid FAQ, http://laughingsquid.us/faq/website-setup/#public.

About getting the tumblr page, If you have updated your name servers in the last 24 hours sometimes it can take 24-48 hours for the change to propagate. The steps songdogtech mention could work but if your DNS provider still has not update you will need to wait.

Currently I am able to see your wordpress install page.
