I am new to the world of websites and WordPress.

I was advised by my website host that Installatron was the best thing to use to install WordPress.

I have tried using it but the first time I realised that it had put the blog on URL ‘www.domain.com/wordpress’ instead of just ‘www.domain.com’

So, I uninstalled it and have tried again by removing ‘wordpess’ from the Path field.

However, I then got an install error

    Error
    Unable to load current' install6VlMMY’.

/home/goodbyet' is out of home directory/home/goodbyet/’.

I can find and delete the file it says it can’t install, but then I just get the same error with another filename.

All I want to know is how to install a blog on URL ‘www.domain.com’ instead of just ‘www.domain.com/wordpress’

I’m sure it mus be easy becasue I haven’t seen any other wordppress blogs with the /wordpress after the domain name

All you need to do is upload the content of wordpress folder in your root and run install program.

Many thanks for the reply but I’m not quite sure what you mean.

If I go into File Manager I have a choice of

    Home Directory
    Web Root (public_html/www)
    Public FTP Root (public_ftp)
    Document Root for:
    goodbyetoclutter.com OR
    agreenandsimplelife.com

QUESTION 1 The blog I want to create is http://www.agreenandsimplelife.com so which one would be the root for that?

QUESTION 2 The wordpress folder? Is this installing wordpress without using Installatron?

You need to upload all wordpress folder contents in public_html as that is your root.

QUESTION 2 The wordpress folder? Is this installing wordpress without using Installatron?

When you download wordpress zip file by default its is in wordpress folder so what you need to do is unzip the folder and open wordpress folder and you will see other folders and files you need upload them in public_html
