I am running WordPress 3.0 with the Podcasting Plugin by TSG
Ok I have when you go to my wordpress site (a domain I own), and I click in my browser's syndication button I get 4 feeds.
First feed is my whole site and all postings
Second feed is my site's comments.
Third Feed is generated by the Podcasting plugin - but is empty (don't know why)
Fourth Feed is the correct feed podcast.
I can also generate custom RSS feeds by doing this:
http://www.mydomain.com/category/podcasts/feed/
Where 'podcasts' is the name of the category that I gave my podcasts.
Here are all my questions:
I'm only '2 episodes' into my podcast. Do I really need a 'podcasting plugin'? I want to keep this as simple as possible. I don't want to become reliant on a plugin if it isn't necessary. Can someone tell me if it is really necessary to use a plugin like this? Or can someone reassure me it is indeed a good idea?
How can I make it where when a person comes to my site they get my 'feedburner' rss feed rather than the ones built into wordpress? This really confuses me. I want feedburner to submit to itunes so that if I ever change my hosting, I don't have to change anything in itunes. However, I plan to have regular postings on my site that are not podcasts. So I wanted two feedburner feeds - one for all my posts and one podcast only. I don't understand how visitors to my site would see the feedburner ones 'instead' of the ones that wordpress generates itself.
I hope I've made sense.
Thanks for whatever you can tell me
