Using English WP but Translating Comments Form only (5 posts)

I have installed WP in English but I would like to tranlate the comment form.
I don't want to translate the WP files (i.e. install the language file) since I tried that and it messes up my theme. I do want to translate the comment form though since that is the only section that appears in English. Is there a way to translate the comments form without using the language file? Or maybe only use the comment files from the translation? Maybe there is even a plugin which will enable me to overide the theme's comment form and use another one which can be easily translated. I am quite new to WP so I am looking for a simple way to do this.
    Any help will bemuch appreciated.

You could try editing comments.php directly.

Thanks for getting back to me.
I did this and it worked. Thanks.
The only thing that I could not manage to translate it the sentence "your comment is awaiting moderation" since I could not find it anywhere. Do you know where I could find this so that I can edit it?

I think that phrase is within wp-includes/comments-template.php and I can't see any way of changing other than a direct edit of that file or the creation of a custom callback comment function.

Comments_number ('No Comments', '1 Comment', '% Comments'); does not convert into Polish, although it should be [see. wp-includes/comment-template.php: 550 v.2.9.2]. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Maybe something needs to be improved in the operation of this feature?

I have the exact same problem with the function comment_form_title ('Leave a Reply', 'Leave a Reply to% s') - also does not convert into Polish.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to work around this problem? Of course, I do not think about it, to simply write the arguments in Polish (i.e. editing comments.php directly), because it would only be an alternative solution ...
